The ticks are OUT IN FORCE. If you need effective tick control, we now carry Certifect and Scalibor. Certifect is Frontline Plus with an added ingredient to repel and kill ticks. Currently, if you buy 6 doses of Certifect you get a $12 mail in rebate. The Scalibor Band is a collar that works in a similar manner to Frontline and other topical products. It absorbs into the layer under the skin and provides 6 month protection against fleas and ticks. In addition to these new products, we still carry and recommend Frontline Plus to control fleas and ticks. For flea control we still carry Comfortis and Capstar pills in addition to Revolution and Trifexis.
Although we know all of you don't rely on email, many of us do. In an attempt to make reminding you of your pets' upcoming treatments as easy as possible, we have added email reminders. If you have gotten postcards in the past and have given us a valid email address, you will now get email reminders. If we do not have an email address on file for you, you will continue to get postcards. If you are getting one and would prefer the other, let us know and we can switch you over. Hopefully this will make things easier for everyone as well as saving some trees!

IMPORTANT CHANGES IN 2012! On April 1 we said a sad farewell to Dr. Molly Berberich. Dr. Berberich was a valuable and much loved member of our practice for 5 years and she will be missed. She has moved to a clinic closer to home and is working part time so she can spend more time with her son William. We wish her all the best. We are currently looking for a 6th veterinarian so we can continue to offer our clients and patients the best possible care in both offices in a timely manner. Meanwhile, Dr. Domeyer and Dr. Padgett will be working in the Boothbay office so there will be 2 veterinarians on duty whenever possible. Please be patient and allow a little extra time if it is busy.
Our "new" office hours have been in place for almost a year now and seem to be working out well for everyone. We find we are able to offer better care to our patients without the added concern of going from one office to the other during the day.
As always, you are welcome to visit either office. By changing our schedule we have more staff available each day and you are likely to see a familiar face even in less familiar surroundings. We realize the changes will take a while to get used to. So far, the change seems to be working well for both patients and clients.
In the meantime you can reach us at 882-9458 (Coastal) or 633-3447 (Boothbay)and by fax at 882-7566 (Coastal) or 633-3697 (Boothbay.) We are looking forward to hearing from you.
